Lucky enough to spend a childhood surrounded by animals, Meg's love for all things furry formed a life-long passion on which her career aims are based.
Much to her parent's dismay, what began as a weekly horse riding lesson at a local venue developed into an adoration for the sport, leading to notable achievements in eventing. At 17, she dived head-first into the equine industry, taking on grooming positions with high-level riders to aid her in her pursuits. Over the years, her grooming and riding successes reached international levels, despite juggling the first few years of university at the same time. It was this that sparked Meg's interest surrounding the fundamental influence physiotherapy could have, not only on performance but on health, well-being, and rehabilitation.
After a change of circumstances reordered priorities, Meg focused all efforts towards the final years of her degree. After extensive clinical hours and examinations, Meg completed her Integrated Master's in Veterinary Physiotherapy with a distinction from Writtle University College in 2023.
Within human medicine, the provision of physiotherapy to support athletic endeavors, aid post-operative recovery, or manage ongoing issues is a given. But when it comes to our animals, the idea becomes somewhat abstract. In reality, the justifications and importance of physiotherapy applies to both humans and animals without discrimination.
MEVP's mission focuses on bringing awareness to owners and animal lovers on just how valuable, and in some cases essential, physiotherapy can be. An established body of research has repeatedly shown function, comfort, and quality of life are vastly improved following injury or surgery when physiotherapy is used.
Using evidence-based practices and working within multidisciplinary teams, MEVP aims to enhance and maintain the physical health of all its clients, improving the lives of many furry friends.
